What is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer happens when cells in the breast grow and divide in an uncontrolled way.

Risks and Causes:

  • Increasing age 

  • Having a positive family history 

  • Genetics

Signs and Symptoms for Breast Cancer:

  • New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit).

  • Thickening or swelling of part of the breast.

  • Irritation or dimpling of breast skin.

  • Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast.

  • Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area.

  • Nipple discharge other than breast milk, including blood.

Treatment for Breast Cancer:

  • Surgery

  • Chemotherapy. 

  • Hormonal therapy

  • Biological therapy

  • Radiation therapy

Getting Diagnosed: 

If you have any signs or symptoms that indicate that you might have breast cancer, you need to visit your nearest GP to perform various tests.
